How it Became the Philippines

In the seas of the Orient, lies over seven thousand terral forms closely knitted to each other. Illuminated with the auras of arrayed cultures and colored by different races which historically carved and painted the mystical Pearl of the Orient Seas — The Philippines.

The Philippines, a land of wonders, bestowed with remarkable beauty in its strategic geographical site; in possession of nature’s wondrous gifts, such that it had been named Pearl of the Orient Seas… Each detail, aspect and quality encompasses the core equivalence of the isle’s mystique. It is the people, the rich terraqueous wealth and abundant cultural facet that makes it enticing to be discovered.

The natives of the isle have distinctive characteristics in its norms and ethnicity. The tribal dances and rituals, though ecumenically pagan was one of the highlights of the land’s mystifying story. Even as centuries passed and time evolved, Filipinos never did lose their exceptional individuality that they cease not to dazzle peoples of the world with their unique personality and distinct characteristic.

Philippines it was called, a name in honor of the great King Phillipp II of Spain with the discovery of Ferdinand Magellan in his exploration. Having been named under Spain’s figure, it means subordination from greater power and be regarded just as a colony. Tribes of the early Malays revolted to resist Spanish colonization, though after quite some time the Spanish settlers were welcomed and accepted in presumption that they [the natives] would benefit from them. It was the spiritual revolution and the propagation of Christianity that was brought in as the Spaniards claim to be their sole purpose of inhabiting the island. When the early pagans of the local tribes resisted change in their customary tradition, they raged war against and shed blood on the shores of the alluring Philippine Islands. But the skills and knowledge of the tribes at combat were unduly equaled causing the natives to be pinned down at a loss. They then conceded and embraced Christianity as a new way of spiritual living.

Christianity — bringing in of such religion had been the bait of the Spanish colonizers to make people believe them. Under the captivating hands of the Spaniards, the natives became visitors to their own homeland. They were rendered small, too lowly that they were made to look upon their ruler as chief, though legitimate inhabitants of the land. They were made to follow laws and pay taxes, in exchange of the stable security that could undoubtedly be provided for them. Until a time came that superpower Japan came to take over. As an initial reaction of people who wants nothing but freedom, resistance is the basic instinct. It then again brought war. War with Japan was extreme that again the Philippines was under its ruling power. For a time Japan held its post until a time when the United States came to aid the Philippines. During that time, Japan and the United States are present rivals that they are engaged in a raging war in between them. America indubitably sided with the Philippines warring against Japan. This brought the Philippines and America to a close tie that binds them like brothers — it was then proved that there were no intentions of colonization when the United States granted the Philippines its freedom on the 12th of June, in the year 1898.

Among the three giants who came to invade the country, which had brought different descents, it is the United States which majorly influenced the Philippines. Evidently influenced with the way Filipinos speak as been presently known as the world’s third largest English speaking country. Infrastructural designs and architectural layouts in groundwork engineering, workplace environment and orientation as well as educational system as it had been patterned with the U.S.’. However the greatest question comes in as to what makes the Philippines really mystical that it is being recognized worldwide.

Having the point of perspective, looking at a world map to imply how small the Philippines is compared to other countries, the Philippines is undeniably, minutely figured as of topographical appearance. But to consider that almost every nation in the world has in them denizens of Philippine root, this country is not so small after all. Largely in demand worldwide in terms of employment, Filipinos are held with a reputable excellent professional attribute in areas such as medicine, teaching, industry and the arts. For instance, Filipino nurses are hired worldwide for a specific reason that Filipinos have a strong sense of good hygiene. The Philippines have been recently acclaimed as the leading ESL/EFL institution for Korea, Japan and other Asian countries. Filipinos are behind the creation of top branded products and they are involved with the international entertainment industry in terms of animated movies and the like.  Filipinos are remarkably renowned for several qualities. The innate reverence of Filipinos to God, their sincerity and the traditions of their soul make them different, and give them the aura of luminance that is being mused. From traditions of “Hand-Kissing”, a form of gesture, kissing the hands of the elderly and women to bequeath the highest respect — can only be bestowed by a Filipino.

Filipinos are attributed with beauty, not just of the physical aspect but on inner beauty as well. They are intellectually inclined, and artistically capable. If you are a Filipino, then be proud that you are. Hold high the banner of your native land. Boost up your nation’s honor, go out into the world and make known this exceptional place of wonder and awe. And if you are of a different nationality, and are looking for a remarkable experience, come to this place of extraordinary marvel, and witness, just as what I claim, how it became the Philippines.
